BOSTON – A historically competitive regular season in America East women’s basketball concluded on Sunday and the championship picture has been painted. For the first time in the league’s history, six #AEHoops teams enter the postseason with at least 17 wins.

Championship play will begin on February 28 with the First Round game at UMBC. For the second consecutive year, the quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine on March 3 and 4. The championship game will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on March 9 and will be broadcast on ESPNU.


Full Bracket
  1. Maine (20-9, 13-3 AE) – Won the regular season title outright for the first time since 2004-05. It is their conference-best 15th regular season title and third in the last four years
  2. Albany (23-6, 12-4 AE) – Top-2 seed for the seventh consecutive season; Have won 17 straight tournament games and six straight titles
  3. Binghamton (19-10, 10-6 AE) – Highest finish since the 2010-11 season; seeking sixth semifinals appearance in program history
  4. Stony Brook (18-11, 10-6 AE) – Most total wins since the 2013-14 season; will face New Hampshire in quarterfinals for second consecutive year
  5. New Hampshire (18-11, 9-7 AE) – Eclipsed 17 wins in three of last four seasons; third No. 5 seed in program history
  6. Hartford (17-12, 8-7 AE) – Seeking 12th semifinals appearance in 14 seasons; third straight appearance as sixth seed
  7. Vermont (8-21, 5-11 AE) – No. 7 seed for second consecutive year; will play in rematch of last year's quarterfinals matchup
  8. UMBC (4-25, 3-13 AE) – Higher seed has won First Round game in three of previous four contests
  9. UMass Lowell (4-25, 1-15 AE) – Making first championship appearance after completing transition to Division
